Best Areas to Stay in Paris
My personal recommendations for best neighborhoods in Paris to stay would be the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th arrondissements.
I know a lot of budget hostels are up by Montmartre but I’ve heard some horror stories, and I personally wouldn’t want to stay in that area.
I think the closer you can stay near the river Seine, the better. The Louvre is fairly central so I would aim to stay within 1.5 miles of the Louvre. This way you can walk to just about everything.
Other best areas and landmarks to look for when you’re booking are:
-St. Germain
-the Latin Quarter
-Ile St.-Louis
-the Marais
-Quai d’Orsay
-Invalides

Recommended Paris Hotels
Staying in central Paris can be pricey, but we’ve researched some of the best-value accommodations that come highly rated so you can find the perfect place to stay in Paris.
Hotel Apolonia by Best Western
The one time we didn’t stay with my Aunt and Uncle in Paris, the Apolonia was the hotel we chose. We found it through our favorite award travel search tool, Daily Drop Pro, and paid with Capitol One points. (But it’s also a great value if you’re paying out-of-pocket.)
This small hotel is located on a trendy, pedestrian-only street with tons of cafes and crêperies next door. It’s a short walk to the Latin Quarter, the Pantheon, and Luxembourg Gardens (my favorite park in Paris).
The front desk service was especially warm and welcoming, and they’re happy to holding luggage before and after your stay. There is a cute co-working and breakfast room on the first floor.
Rooms are small (most hotel rooms in Paris will feel tiny for North Americans) but they’re clean and stylish. My Uncle says that Best Western has a great reputation in France, and we can see why.
