Benefits of the Hawaii Go Card

Convenience
Since the GoCity card is issued digitally, there’s no need to find an office to pick up your card. You don’t have to print or manage paper tickets. You don’t have to pay at the gate for each attraction. All your entry tickets are prepaid, all on one all-inclusive pass.

Saving Time
With awesome tours and activities already included on the card, you can cut down on research time to plan your trip. Plus, with the premium attraction on passes of 3+ days, you can take advantage of the full-day tour.

This way, you’ll get to explore hidden gems around the island and go snorkeling without needing to figure out transportation, plot your route, or find rental gear.

Saving Money
The main reason to use an attractions pass is to save money, and you can do just that with the Go Oahu Pass. When using the card strategically, you can save up to 58% on admission costs.

Is the Go Oahu card worth it?

The Go Oahu pass can be a great value, depending on your trip goals and schedule. Let’s take a look at who the card is best for.

Who is the Go Oahu card good for?

Below are the types of travelers who I think can get the most out of a Go Oahu pass.

First time visitors
When visiting Oahu for the first time, there’s probably a lot you want to see and do to make the most out of your Hawaii vacation. Just about every paid attraction on Oahu is in this all-inclusive pass, so you won’t miss a thing. (The one exception is Hana’uma Bay.)

The card allows you to pack all the fun activities into your itinerary that you could want.

Families and Groups
Passes for kids under age 12 are discounted so families can save when planning multiple activities together. Plus, the all-inclusive pass gives you flexibility to switch out activities last minute, based on how everyone’s feeling. Groups of 10 or more also get special rates from GoCity.

Short trips
People who save the most money with this pass are those who visit the most expensive attractions back-to-back. An all-inclusive attraction pass will give you the chance to pack in as many activities as you can in a short amount of time.

When is the Go Oahu card not worth it?

If you don’t want to do very many of the activities included on the Go Oahu Pass, then you’ll save more money just paying admission a la carte.

The same is true if your schedule doesn’t allow for visiting attractions back-to-back. If you’re staying for several weeks, chances are you’ll want to spread out your sightseeing. Doing single attractions here and there will not make good use of the GoCity card.

Tips for getting the best value from the Oahu Go Card

The way to get the best value with the Go Oahu card is to strategically plan to visit attractions on the same day. Start early on those days so you can fit multiple activities in.

Remember, the days you use don’t have to be back to back. You have 14 calendar days (not 24 hour periods) from the first use. So for a 2-day Go Oahu card, you could visit big attractions on the first full day of your trip, enjoy several days on the beach, and then use your second day of the pass up to 13 days later.

Be sure to check which attractions need reservations in advance. And check opening hours to determine which activities might not be available for morning and evening.
