In our opinion, Hoi An is one of the best places to visit in Vietnam. If you only have time for one stop, consider this UNESCO World Heritage town on the coast of Central Vietnam.

Mai Chau, about 100 miles from Hanoi, is home the White Thai tribe. Their village homes are often set on stilts amidst rice paddies and surrounded by the lush mountains of Northern Vietnam.
